The Matrix Leadership Workshop

Most managers will have learnt their leadership skills from working in hierarchical organisational structures and when they first come into contact with a matrix environment they can often find it a confusing, challenging, liberating, or for some, a de-motivating experience ! This is because the beliefs, behaviours, knowledge and skills leaders need to use to be effective when leading people in dynamic, fluid and often complex matrix type structures are very different from those they may have come to rely upon when manage-leading people in hierarchal structures. Especially when they realise that there is no place in a collaborative and inclusive organisational structure for the kind of ego's, temper tantrums, parochialism, silo thinking, negative politicking, or ‘scapegoating’ activities that are often behaviourally tolerated and learnt in other types of organisational structures.

The Matrix Leadership Workshop is challenging because it enable leaders to question their own assumptions about leadership and to ‘un-learn’, in order to ‘re-learn’, a fundamentally different approach towards leading others, that is based on inclusivity, collaborative leadership skills and the ability to think, behave and lead 'multi-dimensionally'.
