The Matrix Relationship Intelligence™ supplement has been designed to complement The Matrix LEAD Influencer (BTI)™. It provides Facilitators with an additional learning resource that enables people to develop a multi-dimensional inter-personal approach when facilitating, coaching or mentoring others in matrix structures, or similalry complex environments.
The supplement draws on a combination of Trait theory and Transactional Analysis, the blending of the two sources providing a rich and practical insight into the psychological motivations and drivers that people use to make sense of their work environment.
The LEAD Influencer provides an understanding of the ‘Big Five' psychological characteristic traits that all human’s share, the knowledge of which enables people to apply this information to influence others by using their preferred influencing preferences as both a communication and influencing vehicles. While the Transactional Analysis (TA) element has been rephrased, repositioned and brought into line with current psychological thinking and research into personality. The underpinning principles upon which 'traditional’ TA is based remain similar.
Contexts where Facilitators will find Matrix Relationship Intelligence™ helpful are many and varied, but it is especially useful for Facilitators responsible for developing Coaching, Counselling, Mentoring or Facilitative Enabling skills in people. That said, this section of the workbook is equally useful in group dynamic or team awareness raising contexts, such as those typically found in Executive, Leadership or Talent Management programs, where there is a need to provide a more considered and considerate insight into the process of building effective relationship and engaging different types of internal and external stakeholders.
Matrix Relationship Intelligence™ enables Facilitators to help people develop not only self-awareness in terms of their own LEAD Influencer preferences, and how these shape and influence thinking, perceptions and behaviours. But it also helps people to recognise and identify the different 'mindsets' that people use sub-consciously. The knowledge and understanding of which can significantly help people to become even more influential, congruent and effective in their own inter-personal relationships
The diagram opposite shows The Matrix A-B-C Dialogue Insight Analysis process
(which is explained in detail in the Workbook), and is used by Facilitators to help
people recognise the influence that LEAD Influencer 'Mindsets' can have on
behaviours during their daily interactions with stakeholders.
When someone is aware of the influence that ‘mindset positions’ can have on
their own behaviours, especially when working in coaching, mentoring
or facilitative roles. They can utilise that intelligence to explore underpinning
motivations behind their own and clients behaviours, and thereby become more
effective when assisting others to raise their level of self-awareness.
